Did you know? Support is available for you if you are having difficulty paying bills:

GAS & ELECTRIC

You should contact your energy supplier to help thyouem sort out a payment plan that works for you. The energy supplier must help you do this and you can get help from Citizens Advice if they don’t.

If you are in debt to your energy supplier you might be able to get a grant from a charitable trust to help you pay the debt off.

SEVERN TRENT WATER

Customers of Severn Trent Water can apply to the Trust Fund for a grant to help them pay off any outstanding charges.

Customers who apply to the Trust Fund also have access to independent debt advice from Auriga Services Ltd.

COUNCIL TAX

Council Tax has been frozen for the last 3 years so the increase this year may come as a shock to many people. You should contact the council straight away on 03004 560560 if you are unable to pay your bill.

AGE UK

They have leaflets available about Ways to Deal with Debt from a debt advice charity called StepChange who offer free advice and debt support. StepChange can be contacted on 0800 1381111, Monday-Friday 8am-8pm, and Saturday 8am-4pm.
